I have been able to go into work the last two mornings. It's not easy but I think it's good for me to get out of the house. I think I would go crazy if I spent all of my time at home and the cancer center. I'm sure I would be driving my family crazy too. I feel quite a bit better in the morning than in the afternoon so it works out well. Last time I was able to go into work in the mornings throughout the entire time I was having treatments. I have two more weeks of treatments this time so I don't know if I'll be able to last that long. I remember it getting pretty rough towards the end.

Day 3
It took me a few days to get this going so I'm now on day three of my chemo. Each day the side affects seem to get a little worse. Monday night we had family night and I was able to go out and play catch with the boys. Last night I didn't feel like doing much of anything although I did get out of bed a few times and I was able to tell Ashlyn a bedtime story. Food never sounds good although I haven't noticed the nasty metallic taste yet. I'm starting to notice certain smells more (not in a good way). Every third week I come in Monday though Friday for about 4 1/2 hours each day. By the time I'm through with chemo each day, I'm so full of fluids that I starts looking and feeling pretty bloated, it's most visible in my face. Then I spend the next 18 hours or so getting rid of all of that fluid. I can't help but wonder how toxic that stuff is. Maybe I should go hit a few problem spots in the yard to see if I can clear up some weeds.

Why am I doing this?
After I went through chemo the last time, I wished I had kept a journal of some sort. The problem is that I hate writing and I'm really bad at it (you'll see what I mean if you read this). I'm hoping that typing will make it a little easier and hopefully it will give me something to keep me busy. I don't know what this is going to be. I'm sure it could run the gamut from spiritual thoughts to cursing, from upbeat and positive to depressing and negative. If it starts sounding like I'm a little deranged, you can write it off to the treatments. You've been warned.
This is a personal record but I'm hoping to make it fun (even though I don't know what I'm doing). I'll try to stay up to date.
